OUR STORY

Behind the Beef

Jake Collins moved to rural Oklahoma entering the third grade. His parents poured everything they had into starting a family farm. He has spent his life working alongside his parents to turn that family farm into an 800 acre cow/calf operation. Jake grew up having hard work, dedication, and perseverance as his daily example. Today, as a cattle producer, husband, and father, it shows. Together with his wife, Sarah, Jake is excited to diversify the functions at the ranch to offer the quality beef produced on the farm, the same beef they feed their family, to you and yours.

OUR MISSION:

The Collins family strongly believes in the old saying, "anything worth doing, is worth doing right." This is reflected in the quality of the cattle produced, the handling and care of them, along with the land on which they are raised and the feeds they receive. All the beef offered by The Beef Barn is born and raised on the ranch. Calves are handled in the most humane manner from birth. We never use artificial growth hormones in any of our cattle.  In late fall and early spring calves are turned out onto wheat fields, and fed home grown silage and hay throughout the winter months. Each calf used for our beef production is hand selected by Jake based on several factors including temperament to ensure you receive only the best. The calves are then finished out on grain to provide substantial marbling. The result? An ultimate difference in taste, tenderness and overall quality in the beef we produce. We want to share that with you!

Not only are we committed to offering you high quality beef, we are joining the efforts of other farmers and ranchers across America to shed light on the positive attributes that farming and ranching bring to the table; America's table and your dinner table. When buying direct from farmers and ranchers you gain an insight into the hardworking, dedication and heart that goes into every aspect of what it takes to feed us all!
